In April 1974, British Overseas Airways Corporation, British European Airways and a number of related companies were officially merged, declaring the birth of British Airways. Headquartered in London, it takes Heathrow Airport (the largest airport in the world) and Gatwick Airport as its two main airports. In the past years, British Airlines has been taking the lead in many aspects among its craft brothers. It is the largest international carrier in Britain. It ranks first in the number of Boeing and Concorde airplanes, and the number of available passenger seats. Moreover, it has a larger traffic volume than any other airways throughout the world.

British Airways entered the airline business firmly dedicated to providing fast and reliable service throughout the United Kingdom and the world. Today, British Airways continues to maintain that standard with thousands of British Airways employees and top-of-the-line British Airways aircraft. British Airways serves more than 171 destinations in 75 countries throughout the world. With dedicated service and daily international departures, British Airways has proven itself as a leader in world travel.
