Expo 2010
Shanghai City, the most prosperous international metropolis in China, has won its bid for the Expo 2010.The Expo also provides exhibitors all over the world with a large-scale platform from which to communicate their successful experiences and accomplishments. Now, Shanghai has enough confidence to hold a grand exhibition in 2010 which will be attended by more than 200 countries and international organizations and 70 million tourists.
Time: May 1st-October 31st, 2010
Site:The site is located in the waterfront area between Nanpu Bridge and Lupu Bridge along the two sides of Huangpu River, covering an area of 5.28 square kilometers (about 2.04 square miles). The core area, which is about 3.22 square kilometers (about 1.24 square miles), requires an admission ticket.
Theme: Better City, Better Life.
Five Sub-themes:
1. Blending of diverse culture in the city;
2 .Economic prosperity in the city;
3. Innovation of science and technology in the city;
4 .Remodeling of communications in the city;
Emblem: The emblem of Expo 2010 shows three people encircling each other, standing for you, me and him/her holding hands together. It expresses the Expo's principle of communication, understanding, gathering and cooperation among all humankind. The major body of the emblem is also the Chinese character 'shi' which is 'world' in English. It means that the Expo 2010 is to be a global expo showing the diversified urban culture in the world.
Construction Plans
Parks:The entire 5.28 square kilometers to consist of an enclosed area with a support facility area outside it.
Enclosed area;The 3.22 square kilometers core area subject to an admission fee, with 2.47 square kilometers in Pudong and 0.75 square kilometers in Puxi.
Theme Pavilions:
Urban Being Pavilion:To show the daily activities of people in cities, reflecting how the cities satisfy their needs and what kind of cities can offer a better life style.
Urban Life Pavilion:To show the interaction between people and cities, it aims to demonstrate ways to protect cities, and ways in which life styles can improve them.
Urban Planet Pavilion: Will show the changes in the relationship and flux between rural and urban areas as well as zoological transformation worldwide, and reflect on the effects on the earth due to urbanization.
Urban Civilization Pavilion:With an exhibition of a number of artworks, this pavilion aims to reflect the footprint of humankind from ancient civilization to the present day.
Urban Future Pavilion:Will focuson people's aspirations and pursue the future of urban life, this pavilion shows how intellect, enthusiasm, science and technology, influence the future for humankind.
Expo Axis:
The 1,000 meters (about 0.6mile) long and 110 meters (about 0.07 mile) wide, Expo Axis is the largest building of Expo 2010. It is in the central area of Pudong, linking the four permanent constructions - China Pavilions, Expo Center, Performance Center and Theme Pavilions. The Expo will have two floors below ground and two above. It is a traffic hub connecting the pedestrian walkways, providing visitors convenient ways to enter the various exhibition pavilions and center. As well as being a transit hub, it will be a large commercial center with catering and entertainment facilities.

Official Exhibitors - Countries; International Organizations
Official exhibitors are those foreign governments and international organizations that have accepted the official invitation of the Government of People's Republic of China to participate in the Exposition.
Unofficial Exhibitors - Non-government and Non-profit Organization; Corporations
Non-official exhibitions are those parties who have been authorized by the Commissioner General of the World Expo Shanghai China 2010 to participate.

This part is designed by the World Expo Shanghai China 2010 in terms of the theme, supplying exhibition opportunities to some representative cities all over the worlds.

The cost of participation in the World Expo Shanghai China 2010 mainly consists of three parts.,
Pavilions Cost
This part of the cost is mainly used for design, construction, equipment rental, fitment, project management and taxes.
This part of the cost includes exhibition design and planning, software and video production, building and support of internal structures, and the purchase of exhibition equipment (such as screens, projectors, supporting structures and TV sets) etc.
Operation Cost
This part of the cost is the day-to-day operating cost of pavilions, including salaries, lodging and board, resources and water supply, insurance, maintenance, transport, office furniture and equipment and the cost of other activities during the Expo.
