    There are many ways to get to Guilin. Good air,train and bus services are available from most part of China and abroad. The most convenient to get around for tourists is to take a tour but taxi's are plentiful and the city is flat so bicycle is also an option.

    - By Air: Flying is the most convenient way to come to or leave Guilin . You can fly to or from most major domestic cities and directly to/from Hong Kong , Japan , Korea , Macau and Thailand .
    Gui Lin Liangjiang (Two Rivers) International airport: it lies in Gui Lin city two river town, Lingui of county, 30 km from urban area, it is a new developing modernized international air harbour of southwest of China. Two river International airports take up an area of 4.06 sq. km, with a construction area of 170,000 square meters, the concrete is paved and built with an area of 650,000 square meters. The grade of movement area is 4D, the runway is 2800 meters long. Designing and flying every year amount is 42,000, annual passenger's throughput is 10 million persons. More than 50 courses can reach our country, foreign a lot of place, get Hong Kong, Macao, Japan Fukuoka, S. Korea Jizhou, Singapore, Seoul, Thailand, Malaysia and other places have a flight too.
    - By Railway: Travel by railway to and from Guilin can be a little tricky but is far less expensive than traveling by plane. There is an international train from Beijing to Hanoi that passes through Guilin's Xianggui Railway station twice weekly. There are several direct trains from Beijing, Shanghai and Kunming each week which all take around 25 hours and cost between 250 - 450 RMB.
    Guilin Railway Station Guilin is the destination of Xianggui(Hunan to Guangxi)Railway. Xianggui Railway is connected with Jingguang(Beijing to Guangzhou), Qiangui(Guizhou to Guangxi), Hugan(Hunan to Jiangxi)and other railways. There are 28 trains from or pass Guilin to Beijing, Shanghai, Hengyang, Nanning, Liuzhou, Guangzhou, Kunming and Xi'an every day. No.37/38 trains air trains for tourists from Guangzhou to Guilin.Guilin by now has 2 railway stations. Namely they are South Railway Station and Guilin Railway Station, both of which has spacious waiting hall, and lounges for foreigners, VIP guests, and excursion passengers. There are also information office, ticket office, baggage checking office, left-luggage office, food and beverage shops, and guesthouses in the railway stations.
    The Guilin Railway Station is the hub of rail networks in southern China, located in the south of the city. It is very busy with two substations, the North Railway Station and the South Railway Station, operating 66 arrivals and departures each day.
Guilin is directly linked to Beijing (30 hours), Guangzhou (15 hours), Guiyang (18 hours), Kunming (28 hours), Shanghai (35 hours), and Xi'an (35 hours). Trains from Kunming and from westerly directions arrive and depart from the new substation in northern Guilin, while trains from northerly directions arrive and depart from the older substation in the west of Guilin.     - By Coach: Intercity express coaches arrive and depart from the intercity station. The coach network in China is very good. Most routes from major cities are serviced by new long distance coachs that are comfortable and have seatbelts fitted to the coaches. Tickets are obtained from the bus station. Most short range buses that service nearby towns like Yangshuo and Xing'an leave from the old railway station in the west. These buses should be inexpensive (RMB10-20 to Yangshuo)
    Long Distance Coaches in Guilin: Express coaches connect Guilin with most cities in Guangxi Province , and many major cities in China . Construction of new expressways and highway networks has made coach travel more efficient and safer than ever before.
    You should however be aware that not all buses are air-conditioned and older sections of bumpy roads make it uncomfortable. Smoking is illegal on Buses in China but this rule is not always enforced.
    - By Cruise Boat: A trip to Guilin would not be complete without a boat ride on the Li River. Boats leave from the Golden Elephant hotel and cost nearly 500 RMB per person for an English tour but just 180 RMB for the same day trip in Chinese.
    Li River Cruise: Cruising on Li River is always a pleased thing. You can breathe the fresh air, feel gentle breeze and appreciate the fabulous landscape on both sides of Li River. In spring, tourists may stand on the front of a boat and let the mizzle falls onto their faces. It is really a wonderful experience.

    Mostly the cruise starts from Zhujiang Wharf. It is about 40 minutes drive from Guilin city. And then 4 to 5 hours cruise will take you to a beautiful and sedate ancient city - Yangshuo.

City Transportation
    - Car and Taxi: There are many taxies in Gui Lin, the majority is Jetta, Santana, there is a few Citroen zx. Taxi charge divide into daytime and evening two period standard, 2 kilometer start 7 yuan daytime, exceed 2 fewer than 4 is 1.6 / kilometer , exceed 4 kilometer is 2 yuan / kilometer; Start 7.80 yuan in the evening, 2-4 kilometer is 1.80 / kilometer , more than 4 kilometers is 2.40 / kilometer.
    You can book a rental car at the airport. Driving in a new city is always difficult and we would recommend that you strongly consider other means of transport. In most situations, we can provide private tours for you with a private car and tour guide. A private car and driver can be arranged at a very reasonable price.
    - By Bus:Most short range buses (to Yangshuo and Xing'an) leave from the old railway station in the west. These buses should be relatively inexpensive (RMB10-20 to Yangshuo). Long distance buses leave from the Long Distance Bus Station on Zhongshan Road near the Taihe Hotel. By long distance bus, you can reach Guangzhou, Nanning, and other Southern cities and regional cities in Guangdong and Guangxi provinces.
    - By Bicycle: As a saying goes: 'no bike, no Yangshuo'. Rent a bike to appreciate the elegant scenery as well as feel the air of village. Bikes are a popular method of transportation in Guilin and if you're comfortable with them, it's a great way to get around. Many hotels and shops in town will rent tourists bikes with a 200 RMB deposit and a photocopy of your passport. Bikes usually cost between 10-20 RMB to rent each day.
